I find making paintings soothing and this one was no exception. My photo of this subject was ill defined but the contrast between sunlight and shadow was striking. I took liberties to add detail from memory and imagination but dd not fight the colors and instead worked detail into the blues and purples as they showed, albeit not clearly in the photo. I will continue to try more experiments with painting greenery with everything but green
